Will & Randi Adams
Ohiwa church of Christ
William is a former Navy Reservist who has traveled to Japan eight times in recent years, spending over 100 days in the country. He recently completed his initial Bible education at Heritage Christian University in Alabama, earning his bachelor’s degree to become a more effective preacher and Bible teacher. William occasionally preaches at congregations in both Alabama and Texas, and he had the opportunity to preach in Shizuoka during their visit last year, where he and his family enjoyed meaningful fellowship with the local church.
Randi is a devoted wife and mother with an associate’s degree, focused primarily on early childhood development and teaching. She previously taught at a church preschool for two years and has experience substituting in children’s Bible classes. Randi speaks some Japanese and recently completed her TEFL certification while living in Alabama. She has been a faithful Christian for eight years.
Their daughter, Vivianne, loves dance class, the beach, and doing just about everything with Mom and Dad. Her favorite Japanese foods are gyoza, miso soup, and (of course!) Coco’s Curry.

Brandon & Ocean Furbee
Ohiwa church of Christ
We are Brandon and Ocean Furbee, recent Harding University Graduates with degrees in Missions and Theatre respectively. We’ve taken two survey trips to Japan and each time fell more in love with the country and its people. We’d love to talk with you more in depth about where God is leading us in His work in Japan!

Angel Alcantar
Ohiwa church of Christ
Angel Alcantar, 34, became a Christian at age 18 after being introduced to the Hayward Church of Christ in California. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Freed-Hardeman University in 2016, where he also took courses in Bible and ministry.
His interest in Japan began as a child through martial arts and language study, and it grew as he learned about the country’s deep spiritual needs. After spending time in Japan building relationships and learning the culture, Angel is preparing to replant the Ohiwa church of Christ in Shizuoka and work toward establishing a self-supporting congregation.
When he’s not focused on ministry, Angel enjoys baking and hiking. He lives with two cats, Hank and Dawn, and is continuing his Bible education through the online Bachelor of Biblical Studies program at Sunset International Bible Institute.

Justin & Megan Evergarden
Church TBD
Justin and Megan have been married since 2017 and are expecting their first child in July 2025. After graduating from the Memphis School of Preaching, they felt called to mission work—especially in Japan. A recent survey trip confirmed their passion, and they are now preparing by studying the language and sharing their vision. Their goal is to move to Japan and dedicate themselves to spreading the Gospel.

Dwight & Josephine Albright
Retired
Dwight and Josephine Albright first went to Japan in 1969 as students at Harding College. At that time they made a commitment to help spread the Good News in Japan.
They returned to Japan in 1977 with two children (3 years and 1 year) under the oversight and support of the Park Avenue church in Memphis, Tennessee, and several other congregations and individuals. After a little over two years in language study, they worked with the Uenohara congregation in Yamanashi Prefecture for a little over six years.
Upon their return to the U.S. they continued their work with the Park Avenue congregation and maintained their interest in Japan. Since 1998 they have made annual trips back to Japan for a month to three months to encourage the workers there and assist in spreading the Good News.
